Hi Henry:

You do not say what version Media Player you are using and the OS would 
be helpful as well.

Perhaps just try this:

Once Media Player opens it's window and you hear the sound take your 
mouse and left click/hold on the Media Player bar at the top of the 
screen and move it a bit to the left or right and release to see if the 
video then appears.

If not, provide the details to player version, OS, maybe your VGA screen 
resolution as well and perhaps others can offer assistance.
