I checked the resistance of the sensor under various conditions and it matched the expected resistance at the temperatures tested. I also note the change in the temperature voltage sent to other devices from the CIS-E (KE) unit and it changes as expected.
But you're right - just about anything and everything plugged into the CIS-E can cause the fault condition, which is why I've taken to singing the blues on this forum :)
