[W126 Coupe] Flasher unit

Hi
   Can anyone help me locate the Hazard Flasher Unit.?
Not the switch on the dash.   Its the on/off flasher unit that I think is behind the dash, drivers side on my Left Hand Drive 84 500SEC Euro, can hear it clicking there but so far can't put my hand on it.
The problem?  sometimes it works for 5 or ten flashes then stops and the turn light stays on, or all four stay on if I have used the Hazard switch.  I think a faulty unit or bad connection to it. The fault is there when I use the turn stick or the hazard switch. That would suggest the unit is the problem.
