I believe that the part that Vance is talking about is the guide rod mount kit according to his diagram
I've heard it referred to as the brake stop. When this part goes bad, you will get a popping noise when you stop, its very noticeable. If one side is bad then you might as well do the other while your at it. Because most likely it too is going bad, plus you have to realign the car after you change both of them or one.

Jack,
Not too sure of the correct name for this as I was in Greece at the time when I had quite a lot of work done on my Euro 560. It translated to Brake Inertial Damper. See the pic.The arrow points to the unit. I am sure there will be someone who might know the correct name for it. Anyway, I had these replaced on mine while I had the engine out. Before they were fitted, I had similar symptoms to what you describe.
Hope this is of some help.
Good luck,
Vance.

Hi All,
I just started feeling a loose feeling when hitting a bump in my front left wheel.
I have new shocks, all new tie rods & new center link.
Any guesses?
Thanks
