[W126 Coupe] Long term Battery drain problem

It looks liked I jumped the gun. The battery died after 3 days with the combination relay out, but fuse #2 back in. At least today I managed to get the alarm working again. That was a mission, as there isn't much info on the net regarding alarm systems. Found out how to do a master reset though and it worked.
Trouble is now I need to back up to the circuits on fuse #2. Or perhaps firstly confirm it is only fuse #2 circuits (one of them at least). It could be this current draw is so intermittent, that it could have been something else and it might have been just coincidence that it was OK the first time I had fuse #2 out.
Maybe go back to the 1amp fuse test in fuse #2 position. Any suggestions are welcome.
Cheers,
Vance

Vance;
You have narrowed it down to functions on circuit 30 that go through the Combination Relay. You need to identify which function. But the combintion relay appears (so far) to be central to the problem.
You likely have to find the offending component through a process of elimination. You could eliminate the relay itself by switching it with a known good one, or if you can not borrow one, replacing it with a new one ( it costs about $75).
I'd do that first to confirm that the relay is good.
If that fails to solve the problem then you can tackle the individual functions (circuits) one at a time.
