Depending on the year of your SEC it is either the fuse holder in the
fuse box that may have overheated from the terminal UNDERNEATH. This
was the case on my 86 300SE. which I had to modify and repair the burnt
wiring per MB or as Mike suggests it's the $3 foil fuse that was
externally mounted once Mercedes realized that the fuse box was not a
safe place for the blower fuse. I purchased a 90 300SE where this foil
fuse was shot and once replaced restored the blower to it's former happy
self.
Could be other things but, this is a good starting point.
