Hi Mike;

Congratulations on the best acquisition you'll ever make, the SEC. If
you take the time to review MBCoupes archives you will see that most,
not all are running on the H&R springs with new MB rubber shims and
continue to use the stock Bilstein shocks.

To lower the SEC chassis the set-up is typically drop the rear an 1 1/2
and the front 1 inch. This lowered height gives the car a nice stance or
rake as another MBCoupes member said and provides you with the needed
room on the rear to run on 18 inch rims/tires with no rub. The shims
are available from MB. H&R did make a sport spring and a comfort
spring, not sure if they still make both. I've driven on both set-ups
in the SEC. The sport rides hard, very hard. The comforts handle very
firm in cornering and are tight but, you get a better ride IMHO.

I'd check several of the MBCoupes links for suppliers to see if you can
get the best pricing on the wheel and euro light assemblies. I did pick
up a full (like new) set of sedan euro headlamps on eBay from a German
source, you may luck out and find them available for the coupe by
checking eBay periodically and make your search parameters include Europe.

Regards,

Dick
