Dick,
As soon as I read your email this afternoon, I ran out to my 560 and
adjusted that allen screw in the EHA.
WOW ! I think you are right. It seem to be the missing piece of the rough
idle puzzle. Earlier this week I replaced all of the fuel injectors,
injector seals, and injector holders. Every one of the injector holders had
a major crack or pieces missing. It ran remarkably better after that. The
idle and pickup were 80% better.
It still wanted to be adjusted to rich to idle smoothly. I changed out my
nearly new Bosch Plat 2 plugs for NGK non resistor Wn9D crossovers. That is
all that I could get besides champion which I have never liked. With the NGK
plugs, the acceleration was stronger and less labored. I still couldn't lean
it out enough.
After the EHA valve adjustment I only want to drive this car.
HERE IS THE QUESTION FOR ANYONE -
When you look at the fuel inlet and outlet of the EHA valve, one of the
openings seems to have an insert of some kind in it. Is this a screen or
fileter that can be either replaced or cleaned?
If so, I have no doubt that has got to be some extra restriction after 15
years and 150k miles.
Thanks for your insight and advice.
