As fate would have it, resistance in series with the secondary circuit 
actually prolongs the spark duration. I wonder if that would help some 
of the rough idle problems I'm reading about? And assuming the plugs are 
about 1000 ohms, typical spark gap current of 200 milliamps only costs a 
200 volt drop in available voltage.
