[W126 Coupe] H&R Springs

It's common!

I also lowered a stock '88 never-been-in-an-accident SEC, and wound up using
four different shim sizes to get the ride height where I wanted it, and dead
even front to back and side to side.

Subject: [W126 Coupe] H&R Springs

Hallo group,

I had H&R springs lowering springs installed on my 88' 560 SEC US last
year...
I noticed that the car sits exactly 1/2" lower at front driver's side
(left) than front passenger side (right), hence there is some tire
rubbing in the right fender on bumps while none on the passenger side.
The spring shims used were both 3 nib shims... Both springs appear to be
seated properly... The car was never in an accident, I'm quite certain.
My friend who also had the H&R springs installed on his 89' 560 SEC has
the same issue...
Is this a common chassis tolerance issue? Is this why they make
different size shims to make the adjustments in the spring perch? Is
there that much tolerance in the spring heights themselves?
Any insight is appreciated as always...

Sam

p.s. Rusty and Jono Dude, smoke a peace pipe and get on with it... We
all love you both!! ;-)
