Hi Guy's
I also have a 1989 300E that my wife has been using as co. car sales calls. Mostly highway miles the check engine light came on and I couldn't find anything wrong except some corrorsion on neg. termial of bat.cable. put some baking soda on it,but haven't taken off to clean correctly and seen if light would go off yet, I've just had recent back surgery w/ spinal fusion of L3,L4,L5 so bending over makes it a little hard. Called friend that was m/b mechcanic i've been using doesn't have dianognostic tool for this model, but suggested main reason that sets this off since nothing else is wrong could be O2 Sensor which hasn't been changed since I got car 5 yrs. ago. Has just recently passed emission about 4 months ago, clean as a whistle. Any ideas befire expermiting w/ new parts. Uses about 1 qt.or less oil per 5000 miles and has 155k on it now, no leaks, misses, heatations or anything that you would consider a problem, runs perfect w/ great gas mileage. Very clean well kept car except for some clear coat haze from sun here in Az.
Regards, Clay
