[W126 Coupe] 560SEC acceleration

It shouldn't red line at 100+ if it is in top gear. It should only red line under full acceleration just before the upshift to the next gear while under Wide Open Throttle. My 560 is a 1991 Euro, so the top speed in each gear not only is in KPH, but because the gear ratio's are slightly different as well as the diff, the speeds in each gear will be different to yours (unless yours is a Euro version as well). However, you should still be able to red line under wide open throttle just before the upshift to the next gear regardless what your limit speeds per gear are. Mine for example would red line at wide open throttle in 1st at around 57KPH, 2nd at around 122KPH, 3rd at around 200KPH. I have had a top speed of 256KPH on a German Autobahn in top gear which is nearly 159MPH (which by the way was as smooth as silk). These cars are supposed to be limited to 155MPH, but I managed a couple more MPH. Even then, it wasn't red lining while in top gear, although I can't remember what the RPM was at the time as I had to stay focused and look so far ahead while driving at this speed.
Maybe you have the same problem I mentioned on my last post to the site regarding the adjustment of the throttle/vacuum link if you never go near the red line under Wide Open Throttle while in 1st, 2nd or 3rd gear.
Good luck,
Cheers,
Vance.
