So David if the fuel pumps do not seem too loud then I'd go ahead and 
test the ignition visbly for signs of trouble.  You can wait till dark 
and warm the engine up and spray a mist of water on the igniton harness, 
cap rotor, and coil wire to see if you can see arcing.
