[W126 Coupe] Brakes Still Squealing

As long as you use paste, I don't think the pagid ones ever squeal, and even the PBR ones its almost always the rear ones that squeal, so if you have pagid in the back, no worries. I wonder what running two different compounds does to your brake bias though. When I had that setup for a couple days (had to buy more anti squeal paste), I noticed that the braking stunk.

Did I just get lucky on brake squeal? I use PBR Metal Master pads on the front with ATE slotted rotors and no squeal. Don't remember which anti-squeal paste I used, something bright orange.

Couldn't use semi-metallics on the back with new stock rotors because of the squealing so those are Pagid.

My 2-cents.

Ah...don't hot enough you say? You need to drive with me :-). Actually though, now that I no longer drive that way I see your point, and I'm going to switch back to the OEM pads once these metal masters wear out (and I'm also going to stop recommending metal masters to people - now that I drive slow it's annoying how I have to warm them up). The only issue is they don't seem to wear out, 16k miles and they have a lot on them, as do my rotors. For me, MB OEM pads were lasting 8k miles and the rotors for some reason only lasted 16k miles

Yes, for track pads but running that sort of thing on the street doesn't make terribly much sense as the temps they require to work optimally are rarely reached.
I still love my Pagid/ATE soft organic pads...my cross drills eat through them like there is no tomorrow but Man do they stop.
