I bought four of them from that ebay seller, got them quickly, installed two so far on a 560SEL with no problems.

I have 92k on the car now so it most certainly could be time for accumulators. I do not believe they have been changed yet.

The air system on my 96 Town Car respondly very quickly (about 20 sec and your level was adjusted and done)... Guess this one is slower if it takes a minute to get going.

I will try holding the lever longer and see if that makes any difference.

On that note, has anyone tried these units off eBay? A bit less expensive then the dealer (even at my buddies discount).

  Thanks for the tip!

I've never seen accumulators leak..only the self leveling shocks/rams.

When you move the proportioning valve lever hold it there for @ least a minute, if not more..this system is not quick to respond..
How many miles are on your car? Do you know if the accumulators were ever changed? Typically one can see about 100K out of a set if the fluid is tended to fairly regularly or if you don't take train tracks at 70+;-)

Also, I would pull your filter and housing back out..have someone start the car while you hold the return line over the reservoir..make sure your pump is @ least pumping something.
