I stand to be corrected but the 560 was built in SA from 1988 to 1991, the
88 560 was not governed and clocked a speed of 277km/h on the Kruhgersdorp
highway. The 91 560 which my uncle has is a real beauty, it came wit airbags
and skid control.. The reason I say it was built here is cos of the Chassis
number on the cars. It corresponds to our format. 

 

Yes my Uncles 560 does have a remote central locking.

anybody confirm this?

 

I am also under the impression that the SEC never came standard with remote
central locking.

My 1990 560SEC has the built-in immobiliser / burglar alarm (keys with the
red dot on them)

but I have never seen a remote key - I think it was only introduced in the
next generation.

 

Just for interest's sake, what is the mileage, and what did you pay? And you
should send us pictures of your car :-)
