A system like CarFax only works because all the dealers subscribe to
it, and maintain the central record.
Odds are (and I mean, they are strong odds) that the car was probably
not serviced by official Mercedes-Benz
dealerships for most of it's life, so I do believe that "all she's
been through" might be a mystery forever, and
the only clues you have is the car itself, and maybe the service
history book if you still have it (and it's been updated).
Even my SEC, which was owned by a very wealthy (first and only)
owner, whom I suspect only drove it for a few years while it was the
"best you could buy" and then parked it in the garage for most of
it's life, had it serviced by non-official dealerships. So
though I have full service history in terms of invoices and entries
in the service book, I cannot go to a M-B dealer and
ask them for the full history of the car... I would be surprised if
you could do the same.
Why not send some pics of your car? Then we can all see what you're
up against :-)
kind regards.
