[W126 Coupe] Bulb out indicatior

My Girlfriends father has the 500Se and his was doing the same, he had the
wrong bulb type on the reverse lights. Get the proper spec bulbs.

  My bulb out indicator lamp is glowing but I have no bulb out and the
lights are not even on.
This appears to me to be a short or small leak to ground at the indicator
bulb.
But, I am guessing. Does anybody have any experience with this?
