[W126 Coupe] Engine to Chassis compatibility question

Would take 1 1986/87 300 turbo engine over a 380 V-8 any  day.
A 300 SDC should have been offered by Mercedes.
Would be a great car to make,  which I am thinking of doing to a 380 
SEC with a bad motor that  someone locally  is selling (NJ)
