In fact there is a whole debate in the mbcoupes archives on using fully synthetic or not on the W126. I can only go off what I have read up myself and my own experience using fully synthetic. However from my own experience and?my way of thinking is if the viscosity is lower on start-up, then the oil pressure would build up a lot faster protecting the engine sooner.
