Dave,
Where do you keep your boat in Fla? and when do you plan on driving her back here? There are five sec's that I know of on this island, and about half a dozen over in Sarasota on the main land, There might be an interested buyer aound town. I will ask around.

> Thanks for the feedback.? I'm pretty sure CA requires all the%^&ing smog stuff forever.? I have to get the car smog checkedevery two years and if it doesn't pass I have to spend time/moneygetting it 'tuned' to pass and then take it back to the shop to have itre-tuned for better mileage/performance.? I have found a shop that willdo that but it is risky for them to do.? I used to own a '73 MGB that Ihad to do the same thing with....?? I am thinking of driving the carback to Florida when I go to work on my sailboat again and I'llprobably sell it there.? Do you know anyone who might be interested?

I own a '84 500SEC AMG Eurocar with 275k miles on it.? The car still runs great with a couple ofminor irritations.? The idle speed drifts around and it is normally toohigh up around 1100 rpm.? I think it might be the black box mounted onthe firewall (I have checked for cold solder joints but should do itagain).? Sometimes the idle is fine but most of the time I have to siton the brake or take it out of gear so the car doesn't creep forward.?Occasionally the idle drops down to the normal 600-700 rpm.The other problem is with the heater.? I assume the problem is with abaffle not opening correctly or some vacuum hose but it looks like amajor project to get to the source of the trouble. The real reason I am writing this is to talk about a loud noise thatdeveloped last week.? I thought I was losing a rod bearing at first butnow I think the noise is coming from the driver side catalyticconverter.? I think there is something banging around in theconverter.? Has anyone else experienced this before.? I'd like to justget rid of the converters but out here in California that "ain't gonnahappen".Dave IsaacsonThe MB Coupes Website!W126 SEC Mailing ListPostings remain property of MB Coupes, L.L.C.
