 You're required to file an accident report. I think it's okay to have him pay directly, but don't foget that estimates are just that and often supplemental payments are required, above and beyond the estimate.  If you have waiver of deductable in your policy you can go through your company and you won't have to pay the deductable because it's his fault. If you don't, you will have to pay but will be reimbursed when your company gets paid f rom his (subrogation).  Or, you can simply make a claim against his insurance carrier and you they will pay in full. If you need medical assistance, the first 8k is automatically paid by your carrier and you will need to file the claim with them, (you cna't claim for personal injuries against his carrier until you expended 2k in medicals or have some sort of serious injuries, i.e. permanent, scaring, broken bones etc.
