Thank you Markus and Talbir and RG.

I have no deductible for this loss where I am not at fault.  So, other 
than the insurance adjusters wanting to do things cheaply I have no 
qualms with filing.  But, the car is /was pristine and I want a pristine 
MB.  So, the offer to fix it and fix it right for whatever the reason 
the owner feels this is his best route suits me fine but, I will now be 
waiting a bit to make certain all is well with my daughter before doing 
anything.  I am reading up on whiplash as RG puts it on the web to see 
just what the timing and issues are before settling this out.  My 
daughter is worth more than all the MB's one could imagine!

Thanks all for the advice.  BTW> Red wine works well in calming the 
nerves and in numbing the aches, tis a fine bottle I've opened for this 
not so wonderful occasion.
