Hi Gary:
I've picked up much of the material from the
MB CD Manual
the Super Nervig Index (Steve Nervig's masterpiece for making the CD
manual easy to browse and retrieve info) a must have for use with the CD
Manual
the MB on-line parts application (EPC) with articulated schematics,
requires win 2000, nt or xp
my mechanic whom I work along side of on any of the projects I bring to him
this group, MBCOUPES
and the MercedesList <www.mercedeslist.com> where Stu Ritter (author of
an MB book for the M103, 124 chassis and former MB technical advisor for
the US and several other pro's answer well thought out questions)

Both MBCoupes and MercedesList types all do their best to answer
questions that are posed, when the right amount of information is given,
to make an educated guess as to how to proceed in diagnosis and repair.
The 126 and 124 are great cars to work on as a DIY'r where no expensive
computers are needed in carrying out a diagnostic routine which is what
the manual walks you through step by step in logic ladders.

It's definitely gotten easier as time goes by to understand and fix a
lot of the 'typical' failures on these cars from my vantage point. So,
I'd encourage anyone who wants to keep these fine machines to stay
involved, read the archives and ask questions. I still do and I am glad
I keep notes and photos where I find my left and right get confused
sometimes, my wife would say 'all the time'.

My CD manual just showed up one day from a MBCoupes friend in St. Louis
back in 2001. He's still on this list and I'll repeat what he once
emailed to me. Provide your ship address off-line and what you seek may
just show up.

Regards,

Dick
