Good Humor! Also happy to know that such a product exists.

Further to my last notice, the Mercedes Benz product is "Schließzylinderfett" which is German for "Expensive Shit".
Or, Lock Cylinder Grease, A 001 989 26 51 10.
The driver's door lock tumbler on my 380SE would not turn either direction. Schließzylinderfett fixed it. It really works!
It may be expensive at $16 or so, but that sure beats changing the tumbler.

on my 85 500 SEC, the drivers side door key lock has
frozen up. You can't move the key either way. Has
anybody else had this happen?
Any fixes?
David
david,
I had the same thing happen on my 89 sec. At one time you could buy tumblers from mercedes and now you must buy both handles and locks in one piece for the cheap price of $1,500.00.
I ended up putting in an alarm that opens and locks the system for about $200.00 and I got a discount on my car insurance too.
In an emergency I can open the doors from the trunk.
