 Thanks for the photo, Dick. That clears up what I need to see.
  However, I don't see it. I will get into it a little more when I have
time but I saw one hose, approx. 10mm ID, between the battery/ monovalve
area. I expect to see 2 hoses, supply/ return.
  I'm starting to wonder if my car was not fitted with this feature.

Hi Rick:

This is a reduced size photo of the area just in front of the passenger
seat
where you can see the white plastic base to the black bladder that runs up
under the windshield and is wide enough to cover the surface area where the
wiper blades are parked.  Those two hoses run through the firewall to the
engine bay very close to the diagnostic socket and monovavle area as you
can
see in the photo.

I'd guess yours is either working or you would see a loss of radiator
coolant over time.  If a leak were to occur in this area it would run out
the front fender side drain or center drain to either side of the
transmission bell housing which are both located under the plastic/metal
wiper linkage cover that I have removed in this photo.

This one photo is from my 'parts car' the 90 300SE with 300k miles that I
retired last December, so not an SEC but they are identical in make-up.
Also the bladder rests on two white nylon clips and just sort of floats in
place until the glass is laid over it.  There are no fasteners or glue in
this area.  If you need the original photo that will let you really zoom
in,
