[W126 Coupe] Horsepower in 380 and 500 sec's

That's what I've done, increased width AND height, the problem is, it's hard
to come by affordable wheels and tires now...and the current aluminium
wheels are much heavier than the 16" magnesium's that came with the car.
I get slight rubbing on deep dips, but overall the SEC is fine.

The only problem even with the 300HP Euro 560 (and that has a different 1st
gear and diff ratio) is there is still only so much rubber in contact with
the road. Even on a good road surface with good tires I can't floor mine
from a standing start (1st gear start) without the ASR activating and
holding it back or if I had the ASR defeat system, I would just leave
several thousand miles worth of rubber on the road (unless I am very lucky).
The only way I can see making it worth while with all this extra power lark
is to not only increase the rear tire width, but the overall diameter as
well. This would put more rubber in contact with the road, but would need
some re-calibration of the speedo. Is it worth all the trouble. I am quite
satisfied what I have as it is.
Just thinking out aloud. Of course there is always an idea I think it was
Nathan had some years back by putting a bag or two of cement in the trunk.
:-)
Vance.
P.S. On the latest battery drain story, it looks like from the latest tests
it is one of the circuits on fuse 1,2, 3 or 15. Still a long way to go.
