Hi Steve,
Mike wants to use a Hurst Shifter in his car, I am going to use one of them
B&M ratchet shifters. You know the one a big aluminum box about 4X8 with
a huge lever coming out. I am thinking about mounting it inverted in the
roof like the throttle quadrant of a Grumman sea plane!
The GM 700R transmission uses either cable or link rods to select gears; if
the 4L60E is electronically shifted I think I can integrate that to the MB
shifter. As Mike the goal is to have the car appear as if it were
completely stock inside.
I am using that same goal in the CE with the stick shift, I have a factory
clutch pedal assembly and shifter boot for the console. I don't know if I
am going to use a stick with the LS-1 it will be what I find as a package
auto or stick.
My CE is an early car with a 3.23 diff, that is a bit less then the 3.42
that comes in the Vette. The six speed manual has an optional 2.56 gear?
That would be a great match for an SEC with 2.47 gears or a later CE with a
2.65 diff.
Steve
