1987 560SEC Engine and Transmission for Sale

Selling the original engine and transmission for my SEC.

200,000 miles each, but..

This engine and transmission was dyno'd in the SEC on February 3, 2006:

Run 1: 194.37 HP and 236.70 ft/lbs torque. 

Run 2: 194.45 HP and 238.97 ft/lbs torque. 

This equates to about 235 HP at the crank.

 

The engine and tranny are still in the car and work great. I'm upgrading to
an LS6/4L60E and would like to sell these. 

 

I will pull the engine/tranny but you get to set up the shipping. I'm
planning on NOT taking the transmission off the engine. That makes it a big
lump but should be less prone to shipping damage.

 

You get the engine with all the rotating bits (a/c compressor, starter,
alternator, air pump, power steering pump), and the two-snorkel air cleaner.
The transmission will still be attached so you obviously get the tranny and
the torque converter.  Compression readings were around 150-160 psi last
year, but I don't remember specifics other than they were within around 7
psi differential. 

 

 

ENGINE work within the last three years:

New timing chain

New chain tensioner

all four upper plastic chain guides new

all 16 valve seals new

Cam oiler plastic sleeves new

All 8 fuel injectors, their intake manifold buckets, the o-rings on the
buckets new

New No. 8 exhaust & Intake valves (which fixed the high idle, rough idle)

New Idle air manifold tubing

Valve cover seals new

 

Intake manifold powder coated silver, reinstalled.

Cleaned, reinstalled the throttle body.

New throttle position switch on the throttle body assembly

Cleaned the idle air valve

Cleaned the Fuel Distributor internally

New o-rings on the ECU

Spark plugs and plug wires

 

 

TRANSMISSION

Stock unit 

Works fine but the front seal is leaking

 

The car is in Las Vegas (zip: 89129), but I'm working in Charlotte, NC for
the next several weeks. I'll pull the engine and ship it when I get back (or
make you a short video of it running). Make me an offer I can't refuse! Ebay
has just the 560 engine from $1,000 to $2,000, depending on condition.
