Jack,

I'm afraid your springs have broken, and it is not a cheap part.

I had the exact same problem in my car and all-in it cost me $600 to fix.

- New MB springs $310

- New horsehair pad $110

- Labor $150

- Taxes

It is quite labor intensive. You'll have to take the seat out (it is very
heavy..), remove the leather cover and R&R the springs and pad, then put the
leather cover back on.

If you have the time and access to a breaker's yard, you should be able to
use the springs and pad from a nice, unmolested, passenger seat.

Cheers,

Axel

Subject: [W126 Coupe] Drivers seat springs on 1989 560 SEC

Hi All,

My drivers seat springs on my 89 560 SEC are shot. My seat bottom leans
towards the door. Does anyone here know where to get one and what it takes
to do this job?

Thanks
Jack
