[W126 Coupe] STEERING GEAR BOX

The main problem I have found w/ the new boxes is some come out w/ just an
overtightened feel.. If your box feels OK but it is leaking then I'd say
have that particular box re-sealed. If it is a case of excessive play then
a reman is good, new is ideal, or a very low mileage used unit (as dick
mentioned) w/ fresh seals.
The job itself isn't bad..You just need a 36mm socket if I remember
correctly as well as a pitman arm puller.
The puller should be available for rent from your local parts store and the
socket is easy enough to get from Napa etc..
Hope that helps!
