[W126 Coupe] Conversion 380 to 500euro

Excuse me guys for butting in, but how do you really know if you have a  real 
Euro or not? By the short bumpers.  Doe the VIN #'s tell you what you  have?  
My car is a 1984 500 sec with the small bumpers.  Please  explain in great 
detail... Thanks
