[W126 Coupe] Seat Leather

It is around DC, though it's not ASC (though ASC is decent
people...their other location helped me out when I had a gas line go on
the road), it's Euro...you know what though, this was before the W126
made its way to the MB Classic center, so perhaps the new price is part
of the wonderful price raises that occurred the instant the W126 became
classic. It remember it was $400 because I remember being surprised that
it was $100 cheaper than performance products.
Jack Hartnet at Euro btw is the most knowledgeable parts guy in the
world, back when my dad had a 300D, I think 1981, he needed to replace
the trunk lock, and fast (the lock in the trunk came out in my mom's
hand when she pulled the key out...though the trunk didn't open). So he
took a non-keyed lock and keyed it to match the existing key. He knows
everything about everything about MB parts, and how to replace them, and
the other parts guys when they can't figure out something will ask him.
He's getting old though so he leaves at 3 now. I once came after he left
needing a vacuum switch, nobody could figure out where the part was in
the parts list (including guys who had worked in parts for longer than I
can remember). I came back the next day, he said "oh yeah" went in the
back and came out with one about 2 minutes later.

If your dealer will sell to you below cost please give me their number
:-P  Is this the dealer around DC?  If it's ASC I've talked/dealt w/
Richard @ the parts desk many a time.  The seat bottom for your SE
ranges from 885 to 930 depending on which of the 4 colour available  The
backrest lists for 1024....!! 

Dealer cost is a few hundred under each of the above prices.  You might
want to double check with them..if they'll commit to the price they gave
you call me and I'll order a few sets ;-)

	Just looked it up in the EPC/MB Pricelist, only gray and brazil
are available for the 560 Coupes..  My price list is about 6 months old
@ this point and the seat bottom lists for 770/per side.  The back rests
are listing for 870 a side. 

	Chances are that these prices are a bit on the low side..I can
verify as much come Monday.

		Well, seeing as Mercedes leather is now Very thin I
doubt they would still be providing this leather in it's original 2+mm
thickness.  GAHH is exactly to original factory specs.  MB will also
charge you a bloody arm and a leg if it's still available..I'd also
wager colours are going to be coming up NLA especially for anything out
of the ordinary. If they do have this stuff available I can guarantee
it's all going to have to come from Germany..so figure 1-2 weeks wait @
the minimum..  GAHH usually has the items ready to go in stock..if not
it's just a couple of days wait.

			Well, if you have had experience w/ interior
work before I'd say yes...the biggest thing is Time..it takes a good bit
of that (along w/ a hair dryer) to get everything to fit just how you
want it..  That and hog nose pliers take a bit of getting used too.
