[W126 Coupe] Speedometer

Here's my experience with Palo Alto Speedometer. As they are only about 2
miles from my home they are an attractive nuisance.

A few years ago they repaired the odometer in my BMW 2002. When it came
back it indicated about 10mph differently depending on if I was
accelerating or decelerating. Not good.

More recently I asked them for an estimate to repair the odometer on my BMW
motorcycle. I went over to get the estimate and to look at the shop. The
facility is nice, the people are friendly, but the workshop is a messy
disaster. It's even worse than my workshop - and that is saying something.
I left with what I considered an exorbitant estimate. As it turned out a
half-hour research on the web plus about the same time opening up the
speedometer and it was fixed. I'm sure they would have used new parts, but
I don't know how 1/2 hour turns into $200+.

Just my 2c
