I found an 89 420sel with only 16.5k miles on it, and bought it.

Hey that ain't nuthin, ah jest read about a 1989 300 SL  with 317 miles on 
the
clock that's (three-hundred-seventeen) miles, there's a big write-up about 
it in
Mercedes Enthusiast January 2006. The car was never registered it's an 
absolute
virgin, the owner aparently purchased two of them. Anyway go to
http://www.mercedesenthusiast.co.uk and read for yourself. Mind you that's 
not
an SEC, so who needs it right, besides it's got the handle in the wrong 
side.
