Hi Ray,
That's really amazing, but I doubt it if I can find a similar record on mine. It was sold new in Japan and imported to Canada just 2-1/2 - 3 years ago.

John,
You might be surprised at the information you can get from your local MB dealer's service manager. I was. I took my just purchased 560 SEC to the local dealer (Hoehn MB in Carlsbad, CA) and explained that I had just bought it and could he give me any information about it. He took the VIN and in a few minutes came back with a print out of a VMI (Vehicle Master Inquiry). It included a list of options and the codes for paint and upholstery as well as the production and delivery dates. The warranty history showed that my black beauty had been originally delivered to a dealer in New York where it had several paint imperfections repaired before delivery. Four years later it had the EZL and automatic transmission replaced at 54,000 miles under warranty.
From a CarFax report I learned that it moved across the river to New Jersey before it made the trip to California and was registered first in Carpinteria then Palmdale.
Hope you have similar results in finding out about your SEC.
Regards,
Ray Timmerman
