Well congratulations Mike you have the wrong switch in the door.... The
circuit is either normally open (N.O.) or normally closed (N.C.). Pull
the pin switch (depress the clips top and bottom) and disconnect the pin
switch from the two leads. Turn the ignition on. Now touch and hold
the leads together, what does the seat belt presenter do??? Now
separate the pair, what does the seat belt presenter do? You are now
replicating the function of the pin switch. I'd simply go the local MB
stealership and tell them you need a door pin switch that performs the
inverse function of the one you have installed now. Better yet, I'll
test mine in the AM and tell you which one you need to order, either N.O
or N.C. A $3 problem I might add.

Regards,

Dick
