Fellow listers;

I imagine some (many) do not receive the list via digest mode.  I also 
imagine that most subscribers do have digest mode activated since, 
unless you typically respond to more than one message, it is the most 
efficient way to read the daily messages, especaiily if your 
participation is limited to reading only (most folks).

When a digest mode subscriber does respond they invariably hit reply 
then cmd A in the body / delete before typing a response which erases 
the daily digest of messages leaving only the respnse mesage or post.  
[ Yes - there are other ways to accomplish the same thing.]

This is good netiquette otherwise reading the list messages becomes 
almost impossible as the entire digest contents itself is included in 
every reply AND every reply to that reply !

What had been a minor annoyance here in the past has literally exploded 
in the past few weeks and I second  Dans' request to to  think check 
you message content briefly before hitting the send button and include 
only your message.  Then I for one can at least follow the thread.
