[W126 Coupe] headlight trim removal

 Hi,
 I would like to remove the plastic trim that surrounds each headlight. The
top clips in and is visible but I can't seem to get at the bottom.
Is it necessary to remove the horizontal metal trim that runs between the
bumper and grille?
