Hi Rick:
It's basically remove the ash tray insert (lift out), ashtray sliding
holder (look down for 2 screws), coin tray or switch tray (lift out),
slide radio out and away, look up and remove 2 screws in radio bay that
run up into the ACC wood insert, pull wood insert out a bit and downward
to release from under the center vents, disconnect any switches and
fiber leads (lamping) and unplug the two wiring plugs to either side of
the old ACC head unit. ACC head unit is secured to wood backing with
3-4 screws.
Check for dead shorts on heater circulating pump and mono-valve before
installing your new ACC unit to prevent damage to new unit. Check
replace lamps to fiber harness (behind acc area and attached to heater
box), vac elements (mighty-vac to 10inches vacuum the feeds (see manual)
on switching valve to the right) and test new ACC unit for lighting
((2) bulbs on the front of the case under the foil or tape) to be sure
they work before re-assembling.
That's it.
