Finaly played around with that coupe. What happened was the tensioner
timing rail broke and then everything else broke. Did a leak down test
passed all cylinders but #5 and #8. I'm a bit confused by the hissing
sound it is making, it seems that all pressure is lost though the block. I
did not have the cylinder at TDC but took out the rockers so both valves
would close. When I push the valve down most close to the front of the car
in those two cylinders the air hissing does not change but when I push down
the other valve the hissing does change. I was pushing them down at about
100psi.
My questions. Is it going to throw the leak down test off with cylinder
not bieng tdc?Should I put a new tensioner and tensioner rail in set timing
and try turning the engine over by hand if nothing jams do a compression
test on it by cranking it with a the starter? Should I just pull the
engine out and rebuild the heads on it? What is good compression for a the
us m117.
PS. I can turn the driver side cam that I disconnected from the timing
chain sprocket with all the rockers in place without touching the
cylinders. Does that mean my valves are brocken or bent? Valve springs
appears to returm to their normal positions when rockers are not pushing on
them. The camshaft all the rockers do not seem to have any damage on them.
thanks
Pavel
