[W126 Coupe] Help With Rear Axel

I replaced the lower control arm on my SEC, a bear of a job, but worth it.  Got it all back together but forgot to put the axel in the new arm.  We tried removing the bolts on the axel at the rear end where the connect , but not get the bolts to budge.  Is there a trick or special way to loosen the bolts from the rear end?
HELP???
