[W126 Coupe] Door Lock Change

As to the shaved doors, my father did that to a 1953 Studebaker Starlite coupe back in the late 50's when I was a kid. Being done before the idea of remote locking devices, he had a microswitch located between the hood and the left front fender at the base of the windshield that he would push with the ignition key. He also did the same thing with the rear decklid. The car also had what was termed "bullnosed hood" which was removing the chrome trim and smoothing it out. Since it was the late 50's era of tail fins, he also fabricated a set for the car and used '57 Plymouth rear tailights. The car had dual exhausts, headers and cam. The interior was totally customized with "tuck and roll" black and white naugahyde, which was the hot ticket back then. Even though I was only 5 or 6 yrs. old, I loved that car and was mad at him when he sold it, because I wanted it. My first infatuation with a coupe.

He is awesome, I love to see what he'll do with a car/truck/SUV, etc. Yeah, I wonder what they would do to an SEC myself. Would they do a Satish or Talbir engine transplant, would they even have a clue how to do that? I haven't seen anything but American cars done so far. Haven't seen the camaros you've mentioned, but I did see some other newer cars like the Mustang and what they did to it. He has amazing talent.

I have!!!!! What a dream that would be to see what he
could do with an SEC. I believe he is probably the
best designer out there right now. Did you see what
he did with the boys down in Texas to start producing
"new" 69 Camaros? Amazing. He goes for the classic
understated look. Actually a set of his wheels is
what I am going to end up putting on the car.
