Barry, are those 13" rotors or 12.2" rotors? Anyone know what the stock
brake size is? (I don't have my book manuals with me and for some reason
the CD manual is missing all of the info on replacing brake rotors/pads)
Richard

Ramay,
I visited the place you need to get involved with this weekend.
Daryl Armstrong from Precision Brakes Co. in Ashland, OR. Is in the
Process of getting me 13" rotors with 4 piston calibers for my 17"
Wheels. His shop is Top notch and has done some wonder stuff.

The stock brake size on these SEC'S were not designed to do LAGUNA SECA
at
+ 100 miles and hour. Remember you are trying to stop 2 tons not a 1 ton
Race car.

You'll be fine. I took my '87 560SEC out on Laguna Seca Raceway, with
H&R lowering springs and 16" rims. Nothing rubbed anywhere. I've gone to
245/40/18" rubber now and still no rubbing, even when I slide through
corners and full throttle accelerations.
The SLS does not have a speed sensing capability, the suspension will
not "self lower".
One major caveat - put in new brake fluid before you go on the track. My
brakes lasted 3.5 laps at Laguna before I boiled the fluid and it was
about three years old. I have PBR semi-metallic pads in front on slotted
rotors.
They did great, it was the fluid that decided (at the end of the front
straight) that I didn't have any more brake pedal. I didn't know I could
pump the brake pedal that fast!! :-0
Where are you located and which track are you about to try??
Later,
