[W126 Coupe] Door Lock Change

Hi David:

I have seen an MB with the forward facing 'wind, rain' lip
shaved/removed. I think it was the WALD modified SEC. It does look
like a better finish along the door with the lip gone. I presume you
are just talking about that raised lip or are you talking about removing
the door handles all together?

There is a write-up in MBCoupes on remote door lock with receiver
mounted/wired in the trunk behind one of the rear tail light access
plates. There may be some differences in wiring where the early model
pump was 3-wire and the later model had several more. If you have the
3-wire pump it should be fairly easy to hook-up I would think. I've
always wanted to have the windows lower a smidge when opening closing
the doors and have remote access to sunroof and windows when arming the
SEC. Just have not thrown any time at these niceties that are common on
Ford Mustangs, etc today.

Let us know how you progress in this good set of ideas.

Dick
