It's amazing how auto manufacturers seem to artificially adjust
prices of parts
based upon the status of the model. Obviously the SEC has a higher
prestige than
the SE/L, even though I would imagine the SE/L's large chrome-plated
metal grille
being far more expensive to manufacture than the SECs smaller plastic
(with a little
bit of chrome) grille...
P.S> I've always imagined that an SEC would be much less of a target
for theft than,
say, even a small little modern car (think this is definitely so here
in SA). This is because
there's more of a black market for stolen cars / parts of
nondescript, economical and
common cars.
Am I mistaken?
