Thanks Mike. You and Jonathan told me to get some PB Blaster, so I've
ordered a can. The only good thing about working out of town is that I can
get stuff off eBay. The can will be home before I will.

Mike,

pbblaster.com, the only lubricant! I used it to remove a spark plug from my
500 euro. The plug was almost welded, will do the trick for you. Spray on,
let it sit over night, repeat, ect...

Regards,
Mike.

>>I need to remove the exhaust manifold from my ’87 SECM117engine. The
exhaust has been on there from day One and the nuts are verylikely rusted in
place. With my air gun, I can get them out – correct sizedsocket (6-point)
and set the gun to max torque, they’re coming out or I’lltwist the stud
either out of the block or in two. I’d expect that woulddamage something.
What worries me the most is a steel stud stuck in the aluminumhead and I
pull the threads out of the head when the stud comes out. It wouldbe great
to just get the nuts off the studs, but I’m not sure they’llwant to come
loose.

>>Any tricks to this so that I don’t have to re-tap the heads? Is there some
Industrial Strength “liquid wrench” stuff that shouldbe used here?? Heat
from a torch? Use the air gun (impact wrench) gently in andout to try to get
the nut to thread off the stud??
