My guy needs to repair a system on an SEL for me, there's a leak and the compressor won't switch on (but does come on when you jumper the switch).

But he does not have an R12 license, and I'd love to stay with R12. Can it by shipped to me or him?

If an AC system is Still R12 there is no overwhelming reason why one should swap to 134a...yet as I see it there are a multitude of reasons Not to switch to 134..

R12 can be had quite readily for b/w 16-23$ a lb..
