[W126 Coupe] Air conditioning Issues

Hi Group,

I'm up here in Canada (Toronto) where we get only a few days a year above 95
degrees, but many between 80-90 with lots of humidity.

I changed from R12 to 134A 5 years ago on my 1985 500 SEC Euro with good
success.

I had to evacuate and recharge the system this year (5 years later) because,
as it was explained to me, "the molecules in 134A are much smaller than
R12", therefore over time the Freon has to be replaced as it will leak very
slowly out of the system. My system has been checked for leaks using a dye,
and none were found.

The system now blows ice cold.

Also, the sealers (additives) that are on the market cause more problems
than they solve, as per MB Canada.

Bill.
