I believe car talk radio hosts Click and Clack (and MIT grads) answered
a question about acetone in one of their newspaper columns. IIRC there
was a reason that one might think it would help but it in fact is very
very bad.

Acetone is a marvelous solvent for paint, some different kinds of
rubber, and most plastics. This is a pretty good description of a
chemical that I don't want in my fuel system slowly dissolving it.

I have no idea what it would do to a $1200 MB catalytic converter and
don't want to be the one to find out it's a negative.

Like Bruce said, if it's that good, it would be touted by a real
manufacturer. File it under the same heading as the Tornado air intake
"upgrade".

Later,

Mike R.

Hi All,

I saw this on one of the forums and I wanted an expert SEC opinion on
this.
Please past this and open it up.

It is an article about Acetone giving better gas mileage.
